For fifty years our atelier has been the place where Valigiero Rosse bags return — to be assessed by the same hands that built them, or by their apprentices, and to be carried forward, stitch by stitch, into another generation of use.

Every restoration passes through five stages.
A nervous owner should never have to wonder what happens once their bag leaves their hands. This is the sequence — the same one applied to a 1974 archive piece as to a weekender returned last month.

Intake & Provenance
You send photographs and a short history. We reply within five working days confirming the piece, its maker's initials, and the workshop year — drawn from our numbered production cards going back to 1974.

Hand Assessment
The bag arrives at Via dei Serragli 47r. One of our fourteen master artisans — never an apprentice for the first read — examines stitching, frame, lining, hardware and the leather's condition, then writes a written report.

Craft & Repair
With your approval of the quote, the work is scheduled. Vegetable-tanned leather of matching grain is sourced from the same three generational tanneries we have used since the 1980s. Average construction time for a full restoration: 18 hours.

Maker's Sign-off
Before return, the piece is reviewed by Chiara Valigiero Rosse or by the master artisan who led the work. A restoration card is filed in the archive. Our lifetime structural warranty is re-issued against the work performed.

Insured Return
The bag is wrapped in unbleached cotton, packed in a hard-shell Valigiero Rosse travel case, and shipped insured to your door. Most restorations return to their owner within eight to twelve weeks of intake.

Every restoration begins with a photograph and a short history. There is no fee for the initial assessment, and no obligation to proceed with the work. We reply within five working days, in English or Italian, with a written quote and an estimated return date.
- Photographs of all four sides, the handle, the base, the lining, and any maker's initials help us give you a precise first quote.
- If you know the year of purchase or have the original card, mention it — our archive is keyed to numbered production cards back to 1974.
- International clients are served; insured courier collection can be arranged from forty-seven countries.
